Girls' Empowerment through Soccer

July marked the inauguration of the region's very first young women's soccer league: "Real Union".  We are very excited to coordinate with PRE and the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education in the planning, funding and support of this important athletic organization.  The league unites young women from five different communities, promoting responsibility, discipline and teamwork.

In a region where organized sports for women and girls are rare to find, the organization of and wide participation  in "Liga Femenina Real Union" will be the first great leaps towards gender equality in athletics.
