Our Guiding Principles

Our motto is “Do less harm than good.” This reminds us that however good our intentions may be, there are always some negative consequences to charitable acts. We take great consideration to identify and understand what those consequences are. We implement practices and protocols to keep harm to a minimum.

We are particularly concerned with making sure that none of our activities promote a culture of entitlement and/or dependency.  As a result, we are very careful about the projects we support and the manner in which we do it.

We are also very concerned about sustainability — about making sure that the implementation of our programs makes economic sense.

FunLimón is primarily funded by the Mark and Kathryn Ford Family Foundation – a charitable organization set up by Mark and Kathryn Ford and their children, Liam, Patrick and Michael.
